We are pleased to announce the details and registration guidelines for 2027 Busan International Music Competition.

 

​​2027 Competition Category : Piano

​ ​

Junior Division : Those born on or after January 1, 2011

General Division : Those born on or before December 31, 2010​

​​​

 

​Competition Period : Session I (January 14 – 20, 2027)

​​

1st Preliminary Round​

​Selected based on a video audition submitted before the winter academy session begins or a recommendation from each professor. 

​

2nd Preliminary Round : January 16, 2027

Winners of major domestic competitions (e.g., JoongAng, Dong-A, Ewha Kyunghyang, etc.) and international competitions are exempt from the preliminary round.

 

12 candidates selected in total from the Preliminary Rounds

Final Round : January 17, 2027

3 candidates per age group (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) → 6 candidates selected in total

Winners Gala Concert : January 19, 2027​

​

 

​Competition Venue : Dong-eui University Seokdang Art Hall

​

 

Competition Required Pieces

Junior Division

Preliminary Round : Piece of the contestant’s choice

Final Round: Piece of the contestant’s choice

(※ May not be the same as the preliminary round piece)

 

General Division

Preliminary Round : An etude or one movement from a classical sonata

Final Round: Piece of the contestant’s choice

(※ May not be the same as the preliminary round piece / Excludes etudes / Must be a piece that sufficiently incorporates technical elements)​​​

 

​Application Fee : EUR 100

​​​​

​Special Discount : Piano participants registering for Session I will receive a 50% discount, reducing the application fee to EUR 50.

• Note : Please note that there will be no competition held during Session II (January 20 – 26, 2027).
