Pianist Baruch Meir is one of only 65 artists worldwide named as a Bösendorfer Concert Artist since the founding of the company in 1828. Internationally acclaimed as a soloist, chamber musician, pedagogue, and arts leader, he has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Israel, and North America. In 2025, Meir performed a piano four-hands recital with renowned pianist Martha Argerich as part of the Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Piano
Competition that he directs, and in June 2026 the duo appeared together at the Martha Argerich Festival in Hamburg.

An Associate Professor of Piano at Arizona State University’s School of Music, Dance and Theatre since 2000, Meir maintains an active international performing and teaching career. He has toured China’s major conservatories, held a guest professorship at Wenzhou University, and presented master classes and performances at leading institutions and festivals throughout the world. In recent years he has served on the faculties of the InterHarmony Music Festival in Italy and the EuroArts Music Academy and Festival in Poland.

A native of Israel, Meir is a summa cum laude graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University, where he earned his master’s degree in piano performance. He also holds the Artist Diploma from the Royal College of Music in London and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University. His teachers include Rachel Gordon, Valter Aufhauser, Pnina Salzman, Irina Zaritskaya, and Robert Hamilton.

Renowned as a pedagogue, Meir has developed a reputation for guiding pianists toward an effortless and efficient technique, enabling them to perform with greater ease, virtuosity, and expressive freedom. His students have won more than forty prizes and awards in recent years, including first prizes at the Young Concert Artists International Competition, the Schmidbauer International Competition, MTNA competitions, the Yamaha and Bösendorfer USASU
International Piano Competition, the Washington International Piano Artists Competition, and numerous concerto competitions. His students have been frequent winners of the ASU Concerto Competition, appearing as soloists with the ASU Symphony Orchestra.

Meir is the Founder, President, and Artistic Director of the Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU International Piano Competition, one of North America’s leading piano competitions. Established in 2005, the competition attracts outstanding young pianists from around the world and has welcomed distinguished jurors including Martha Argerich, Sergei Babayan, Philip Kawin, Sara Davis Buechner, and Stanislav Ioudenitch.

His honors include the ASU Herberger Institute Distinguished Teacher Award, Bösendorfer International Concert Artist designation, and numerous awards recognizing his contributions to performance and music education. Meir is a frequent adjudicator at international competitions and has served on juries in the United States, Canada, China, and Europe.
